In 2014, Jeremy Smith created a website called Last Row Music to become an online resource for brass musicians around the world. Originally intended to be a hub for auditions and artist links, the website has grown to become one of the most visited sites for brass news, articles, interviews events, and other relevant information. With over 12,000 monthly visitors (as of May 2024), Last Row Music is the #1 site for finding brass job openings on Google.
With occasional guest contributions, Jeremy has contributed over 1,400 posts to Last Row Music’s growing audience.
Here are also a few notable databases and resources found on Last Row Music that are being frequently updated by Jeremy:
Brass Music by Black Composers and Artists: a resource of over 200 brass compositions by black composers and artists.
Brass Music by Women Composers and Artists: a resource of over 400 brass compositions by women composers and artists.
Brass Albums Database: over 700 recordings by brass artists of all styles with a listing of personnel and track information.
Audio and Literature Reviews: over 50 published reviews of jazz, classical, and hip hop recordings as well as books.
Every Monday, Jeremy sends out a weekly email called Brass Digest to over 1,700 subscribers highlighting all of the updates made to the website during the previous week.
